Genetic Testing
Genetic testing can be a powerful tool, but it is not always the right first step. At Hoʻoilina Genomics Institute, testing is recommended only when it is medically appropriate and likely to answer an important clinical question.
We interpret genetic test results we’ve ordered within the context of your medical history, family history, and personal goals. Our work does not end when results return—we help patients, families, and healthcare teams understand what the results mean and what comes next.

Yes. Many visits can be completed securely by telehealth throughout Hawaiʻi. There are a few exceptions - our team will notify you upon scheduling if this is the case.

Hoʻoilina Genomics Institute is beginning with a phased practice launch.
Patients may choose to pay directly for services. If appropriate, we can provide a detailed superbill that may be submitted to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement policies vary by insurance plan, and coverage cannot be guaranteed.
As insurance participation expands, we will update our practice accordingly.
